Geheyan dam

From Encyc

The Geheyan Dam is a large dam on the Xiangjiang, a tributary of the Yangtze River, in Hubei Province, China.[1]

Design work on the dam began in 1987.[2] The dam is equipped with a ship lift capable of lifting vessels of 300 tons displacement.[3]

The dam played an important role in helping to ameliorate the impact of the 1998 Yangtze flooding.[4]
