Slash with a Les Paul

The Gibson Les Paul is a solid-body electric guitar. It was invented in the 1950s by Les Paul, a famous musician who often performed with Mary Ford.

Early Les Pauls had single coil pickups, but they quickly moved to a pair of humbuckers. The neck is set in and glued, rather than bolted on, which helps with sustain. The electronics consist of two volume and two tone dials, and a three way switch.

Musicians to use the Les Paul include Slash and Billy Gibbons (ZZTop).
