Ginger Luckey is an American woman, best known for marrying controversial politician Matt Gaetz.[1][2][3][4]
She is the sister of Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey.[1] Her brother became wealthy, in 2014, when he sold his virtual reality company to Facebook, when he was just 21 years old, and is now known as a generous donor to the Republican Party.
Page Six reported the pair met in March 2020, at a Republican Party fund-raising event at Donald Trump's Mar-a-lago estate, and that they had a "very MAGA-heavy courtship".[5] The pair met at Mar-a-lago, became engaged at Mar-a-lago, and Gaetz said he hoped they would get married at Mar-a-lago.[6][7] Commentator Jeannine Pirro was the first to report their engagement, tweeting a photo from the event.[8][9]
Luckey graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and works as an analyst for Apeel, a biotechnology company that makes protective coatings for fresh food.[1][2][5] She is also a student in Harvard University's, online business program.[10]
In late March, 2021, The New York Times reported that Luckey's fiance, Gaetz, was under investigation for sex trafficking, and for having sexual relations with women below the legal age of consent.[11] Multiple publications have noted that Luckey then marked her Instagram accountant private, and has not commented on the allegations against Gaetz, or on her relationship with him.[12][13] Luckey's younger sister, Roxanne, weighed in on the controversy.[4][5][6][7][8] Roxanne had volunteered as an intern, in Washington, when she was 19, and condemned Gaetz for encouraging older men to try to date her.
Prior to the scandal breaking Luckey said the pair would marry "sometime between now and 2004."[2] Gaetz has said, on separate occasions, that he would like their marriage to be officiated by Donald Trump, and by an Elvis Presley impersonator.[7]
The pair married in August 2021, on California's Catalina Island.[9][10]
On June 14, 2025, Luckey posted, on social media, that she expected to give birth later in 2025.[11] The pair's son, named Luckey Louis Gaetz, was born in August 2025.[10]
