Glass

Glass is a hard, often transparent material made by melting silica and allowing it to cool. If pure silica is used, the glass is colourless; however, it may be coloured by adding impurities.

It is widely used for windows and bottles. However, it cracks and can shatter, so bottles are increasingly made of plastic.
