Goliath

David killed Goliath with the ancient weapon known as a sling.

In the Christian Bible the story is told of how King David, a simple shepherd, volunteers to fight the Goliath, the imposing champion of ancient Israel's enemy, the Philistines.

In the story Goliath is gigantic, taller and broader than an ordinary man. Further, he wears body armor, and is armed with state of the art weapons, while David is armed only with a sling a simple peasant's weapon.

The Philistines and Israelis have agreed that they will let two individuals fight in single combat, instead of fighting a battle.
