Google algorithm

From Encyc

The Google algorithm is a mathematical formula that determines which websites will appear highest in search results.

March 2024 changes[edit]

There was a major update in March 2024 that lead to mass deindexing of many pages.

Expired domains[edit]

The tactic of buying expired domains with good SEO won't work as well anymore.

Scaled content[edit]

Quantity is a quality all its own. But not anymore. There is a penalty for having too much unfocused content.

Site reputation[edit]

Sites with overall good reputations that host a few spammy pages are now being penalized more harshly. An example would be an educational site that posts an ad for an online casino.
