Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby is a novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald.[1] The novel was published in 1925, when Fitzgerald was 28 years old.[2]
English professor Elyse White attributes the novel's popularity to it beibg chosen to distribute to soldiers and sailors during World War 2.[1] In a lecture delivered in 2025 White said only 72 copies of the novel were sold in 1940. The Armed Forces distributed 150,000 copies to servicemen.[2]
