Humid Sahara

Most of the North of the African continent is now a desert, but archeological and environmental studies now confirm that a humid Sahara period ended less than ten thousand years ago.
Prehistoric people left paintings, and artifacts of prey animals only found in a green environment. Soil samples show the pollen of plants only found in a green environment. Dried up lakes and dried up rivers have been found in aerial surveys.
It is believe that the Sahara region regularly oscillates between humid and dry in cycles tied to the ice age, and that the Amazon basin is less wet during the green Sahara periods. The Arabian peninsula is believed to have similar periods of a green Arabia.
