The guitarist is strumming the strings with his right hand, while several fingers on his left hand each alter the frequency of one of the guitar's strings.

A guitarist is a musician who plays the guitar, a six stringed musical instrument, which the guitarist strums, or plucks. Each string is tuned to a different sound frequency. Guitarist make the strings play other frequencies by pressing their fingers onto particular strings.
