Gursewak Singh Bal is a Canadian blogger.[1] His blog, "The Dirty News" is reported to focus on crime. In November 2025 Bal was arrested on the accusation he played a part in the assassination of informant Jonathan Acebedo-Garcia. Specifically he was alleged of accepting #10,000 CAD in return for publishing information about Acebedo-Garcia intended to locate him, so Acebedo-Garcia could be killed.[2] According to the BBC News, he posted pictures of Acebedo-Garcia and his wife, calling him a "snitch". He said "Good chance he'll never be found again."
The BBC reported that, after Acebedo-Garcia's killing, Bal posted gruesome photos of his corpses.[2]
Bal was arrested on November 19, 2025, as part of Operation Giant Slalom.[3] His website was seized. US law enforcement offficials have requested extradition. The Tribune reports that, if convicted in a US court, Bal faces a sentence of life imprisonment.

He was reportedly paid $10,000 on Oct. 4, 2024, by an associate not to post about Wedding and Clark, and was instead given a photograph of the witness and was paid to post it so that he could be found and killed, the indictment claims.

The blog's operator, Gursewak Singh Bal, was also arrested, with authorities alleging he posted a photo of Acebedo-Garcia and his wife to his blog and implying that he is 'a snitch'.

On November 5, 2024, Bal reportedly posted a story on Instagram depicting the victim and wrote: 'This guy single-handedly (rat emoji) out one of the strongest underworld networks that this (earth emoji) has seen. Good chance he’ll never be found again'.
