Hamfast Gamgee

Hamfast Gamgee, also known as the Gaffer, is a fictional character in The Lord of the Rings. He is the father of Samwise Gamgee.

He is a gardener and worked for the Bagginses. He is an expert on landscaping.

In the Fellowship of the Ring, he inadvertently helps the Nazgul by revealing that Frodo has fled from Bag End.

He is a hobbit.
