Herb Wong

Herb Wong was a San Francisco Bay Area educator, jazz aficionado, jazz festival adjudicator, and jazz disc jockey. He was inducted into the International Association of Jazz Educators IAJE Jazz Educators Hall of Fame in 1993. He taught at Washington School in San Francisco, but, despite not playing an instrumet, his real love was jazz.

He was an authoritative voice on KJAZ, based in Alameda, California. He adjudicated at various student jazz festivals, notably the Pacific Coast Collegiate Jazz Festival sponsored by the University of California Jazz Ensembles at UC Berkeley under the direction and organization of Dr. David W. Tucker.
