Hit and run

The term hit and run is used in law enforcement, when a driver is involved in a traffic accident, and then does not wait for law enforcement officials to observe the accident scene, so they can make an official report.

In the United States, and many other jurisdictions, drivers are legally obliged to stay on the scene.
