The Iberian peninsula is a peninsula in soutwestern Europe south of the Pyrenees mountains. It includes Spain and Portugal

Early inhabitants included Basques and Celts.

Carthage had colonies there. Rome conquered the whole area.

Visigoths and then Vandals went through. Then Moors conquered southern and central peninsula until completely driven out in 1492.
