Insanity defense

The insanity defense is when someone who breaks the law has a psychiatrist or other "mental health" professional testify that they were unable to determine right from wrong and should not be held responsible for their crime.

Dr. Thomas Szasz labels this defense as excuse making and states that it should be abolished.
