Invasion of Sicily

The Invasion of Sicily or Operation Husky was an Allied amphibious invasion during World War II. The Allies were able to quickly take Sicily but failed to prevent a German evacuation to the mainland. Mussolini lost most of his prestige and Italy left the war soon after.
