J.R.R. Tolkien

J.R.R. Tolkien was an early 20th century author who wrote The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion, among other things. He was one of the founders of the fantasy genre and created a very elaborate universe for his characters. His linguistic background helped him create languages for the characters including several forms of Elvish, Dwarvish, black speech, etc.
