Jerry Falwell

Jerry Falwell was a Southern Baptist pastor and televangelist. He died in 2007.

In 1988, Falwell sued Hustler Magazine and Larry Flynt over a defamatory advertisement that discussed his sex life. The Supreme Court ruled that the ad was clearly a parody of a public figure, and as such was protected under the First Amendment.
