Jessie Royce Landis
Jessie Royce Landis (born Jessie Royce Medbury, Chicago, 1904; died 1972) was an American actress.
She was primarily a stage actress. However, she made about 20 films from 1930 to 1971. Probably the best-known are To Catch a Thief (where she plays Grace Kelly's mother and stubs out her cigarette in a soft-boiled egg) and North by Northwest (where she plays Cary Grant's mother).
