Jinan Jiluo Road North Extension Tunnel project
The Jinan Jiluo Road North Extension Tunnel project was a project to tunnel a 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) roadway under the Yellow River, in Jinan.[1] The Two identical tunnel boring machines bored parallel tunnels 15.71 metres (51.5 ft) in diameter, finishing in early 2024.[2] Each tunnel will carry three lanes of road traffic on a main deck, while a secondary deck, below, will carry train tracks.
The Shanhe tunnel boring machine, a larger tunnel boring machine, is boring a single tunnel, two meters wider, a few kilometers away.[1] All the tunnel boring machines were supplied by the German firm Herrenknecht AG.
The local geology requires the cutting head of the TBM's to be kept under pressure, to balance the water pressure.[1]

Most recently, he supervised the two TBMs that are also crossing under the Yellow River just a few kilometers away from the new construction site and building a road tunnel with two tubes (shield diameter of the two Mixshields for the Jinan Jiluo Road North Extension Tunnel project: 15.71 meters).

In each of these 2 kilometer long large-diameter tunnels a three-lane road tunnel will be built with a railway line underneath.
