Kiribati

Kiribati is an island country in the Pacific Ocean. It is the only country that is in all four hemispheres (north, south, east, west). Its name is pronounced Kiribass.

In 2020 Kiribati had a population of 119,438. Most of the population lives on the atoll of Tarawa, which is the capital of Kiribati.

Kiribati gained independence from the UK in 1979.

Kiribati's official languages are English and Gilbertese.
