Lantern battery
A lantern battery is the common name for either a 6 or 12 volt alkaline or zinc-carbon primary battery used primarily in flashlights or lanterns. The 6 volt variety typically has spring terminals [1], while the 12 volt version has screw terminals [2].
The 12 volt type is electrically compatible with car adapter accessories that can be powered outside of an automobile.
