Leon Trotsky

Leon Trotsky

Leon Trotsky was a communist leader around the time of the Russian Revolution. In the power struggle after Lenin's death he lost out and ended up living in exile in Mexico.

He was assassinated with an ice axe. The weapon was recovered and is now on display at the International Spy Museum, in Washington, D.C.

Although the Soviet Union became dominated by Joseph Stalin, Trotsky's political ideology continued among his followers, Trotskyites, and is still influential to this day.
