Liberty Promotions
Liberty Promotions, Inc. is one of the largest die cast toy car customizing companies and is based out of Lewisville, TX. It was founded in 1993 as a producer of promotional items; Liberty's production of die cast cars started in 1997[1][2]. While most of its products are repaints of Hot Wheels, it has utilized other brands of die-cast occasionally such as Johnny Lightning. Consumer products include collector pieces sold directly to collectors through the website[3], collector pieces created for die-cast clubs or events, and business premiums. Liberty Promotions is most known for its high frequency use of the VW Drag Bus for its promotions as well as consistent and creative artwork.
Collector Items[edit]

Liberty Promotions offers limited-edition die-cast pieces for the adult-collector market. Customers receive credit for every purchase in the form of points. Prior to 2007, 1 point was awarded for every unique promotion in which a customer participated. Customers with more points were allowed to order new promotions on earlier order dates than those with fewer purchases.
Liberty Promotions worked closely with Jiffy Lube and Penske Corporation from 1997-2003. Following that period, the business-to-business branch of the company was scaled back as Liberty Promotions started concentrating on the collector market.
Liberty Legion[edit]
In July 2007, Liberty Promotions launched its collector's club, the Liberty Legion. Existing customers were grandfathered in as Charter Members of the club, and their points were transferred. Points in the Liberty Legion are used to determine a members ranking, starting at Discoverus[4]. As of 2009, the highest rank that any member has reached is Colossus[5].
Convention Appearances[edit]
Liberty Promotions made its first convention appearance at the 2004 Hot Wheels Collectors Nationals convention[6] in Dallas, TX. Since then, they've also appeared at the Diecast Super Convention[7] and the Hot Wheels Summer Smash[8] as sponsors.
