Lifeguard

A lifeguard is a trained rescuer who watches a body of water while swimmers play. Lifeguards are found on beaches, lakes, rivers, by pools, and in water parks. The Red Cross offers lifeguard training.

The fictional television series, Baywatch, was about lifeguards in southern California. It starred Davis Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson.
