Marshall Plan
The Marshall Plan, named after American secretary of State George Marshall, was a plan for economic aid from the United States to Europe following World War II. This helped with reconstruction efforts and led to the economic boom of the 1950s. European countries who aligned with the West became much more prosperous than those subjected to communism.
