Megalomania is an obsession with grand plans, often involving power and wealth. Classic megalomaniac examples include Xerxes, Alexander, Julius Caesar, Napoleon, and Hitler. It often carries a negative connotation because of the self-serving motivations of the megalomaniac and the destructive consequences for their followers.
