Miami Vice

Miami Vice was a television show that ran during the 1980s, starring Don Johnson. He played a narcotics officer named Sonny Crockett and his partner was Ricardo Tubbs. They grew to like and trust each other, which was necessary to survive in the ultra-violent universe they inhabited.

At one point Crockett dated a doctor played by Helena Bonham Carter, but she was addicted to drugs, so they broke up.

Shoot-outs were fairly frequent, with dozens of bad guys being gunned down every season.
