Middle class

From Encyc

The middle class is a group of people who tend to be able to afford most of the basic necessessities of life along with some modest luxuries. Unlike the upper class, they usually have to work for their money. However, unlike the lower class, they aren't always living paycheck to paycheck. Free countries tend to have a large middle class, while dictatorships and totalitarian states have masses of lower class and a few elite rich people.
