Missile

From Encyc

A missile is a kind of military weapon. Missiles are unmanned, and carry a destructive warhead, or payload. Warheads can carry a nuclear bomb, conventional explosives, or a chemical or biological payload.

cruise missiles use air-breathing engines, and fly very low, to evade their opponent's radar. Ballistic missiles carry both rocket fuel and oxidizer, because they follow a parabolic path to their target, where they rise above the atmosphere.
