Morganton (also called Nature’s Playground) is a city in North Carolina. It is the county seat of Burke County. It has 17,903 residents. Its mayor is Ronnie Thompson. It is located near the Catawba River. It is part of the Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area.
