Mun Kyong-jin was a prominent figure in North Korea's entertainment establishment who was reported to have been arrested on August 17, 2013, just over a year after Kim Jong-un assumed leadership of North Korea.[1] According to Chinese sources, anonymously quoted by The Chosun Daily, Mun, Hyon Song-wol, and other entertainers, were accused of making and selling pornographic sex videos, were all executed, by automatic cannon fire, three days later.[2][3]
Mun had been the first violinist (second in command) of the Unhasu Orchestra while Hyon had lead the Wangjaesan Light Music Band.[1]
Mun was quoted by the foreign press when the Orchestra made a rare trip outside North Korea, in March 2012, when the orchestra was invited to perform in Paris, with a South Korean conductor.[4][5]
Hyon was observed on North Korean television, a year later, but Mun is presumed to have really been executed.[6] Hyon seems to have been restored to favor, to have born Kim Jong-un at least one child, and, including his wife and sister, to be one of the three most influential women in North Korea.

The victims of the atrocity were members of the Unhasu Orchestra as well as singers, musicians and dancers with the Wangjaesan Light Music Band. They were accused of videotaping themselves having sex and selling the videos. The tapes have apparently gone on sale in China as well.
