Neried

From Encyc

Neried is Planet Neptune's third largest moon. It has a very eccentric orbit. Originally Astronomers saw its eccentric orbit as a strong clue that Neried, like Neptune's largest moon, Triton, had been captured from the Kuiper Belt.[1] But recent spectroscopic analysis of the reflected light from Neried suggest it an original moon, and its eccentric orbit is now attributed to the disruption caused when Triton was captured.[2]
