Nile

From Encyc

The Nile River is the world's longest river. It is located in northeastern Africa, and runs through the Sudan and Egypt. Before large dams were built, it used to flood yearly in Egypt. There is a large delta near Alexandria, Egypt. The Nile splits upriver past cataracts into the White Nile and the Blue Nile. The source of the Nile River was discovered by British explorers in the 19th century.
