Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland is a region within the United Kingdom, consisting of the part that is on the island of Ireland. It is close to Scotland, separated by some water, and many of the people who live there have Scottish or English ancestry and are Protestant. During the period from the 1970s-1990s, there was alot of tension between Irish and British people, and the Irish Republican Army fought to expel the British imperialists from Ireland.
