Nuclear family

A nuclear family is a mother, father, and children. Extended family includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The nuclear family was idealized in television shows such as Leave It to Beaver, The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Married... with Children, and The Simpsons.
