Obfuscation

From Encyc

Obfuscation is the process of making something deliberately complicated and difficult to understand. It can be done in programming to protect intellectual property.

Obfuscation is often used as a tool on wikis to control the content. Wiki markup that originallly was human-readable can be garbled by templates and the use of the scribunto extension to use the lua language, which is more difficult for the layperson or casual editor to understand.
