Osmond Brothers

From Encyc

The Osmond Brothers were a musical group, formed from a group of brothers.[1] They were frequently compared with the Jackson 5. Like the Jackson 5, the group was controlled by a domineering father. Like the Jackson 5 a particularly cute younger brother became the most prominent musician in the group -- Michael Jackson and Donny Osmond, respectively.

All of the members of the Osmond Brothers, and their sister Marie Osmond, had perfect pitch.[1]

The nominal leader of the band was Alan Osmond, the group's eldest member, but he had to pull back, when he developed multiple sclerosis.[1] The other performers in the family were, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, and Jimmy. The two eldest brothers in the family, Virl and Tom, weren't in the band as they were born deaf.

Their father placed trust in untrustworthy business associates, and the group's savings were gutted, in 1983.[1] Rather than declare bankruptcy their father merely pushed his sons to try harder, tour more, until the group was solvent again.
