Paul of Tarsus

From Encyc

Paul of Tarsus is one of the principal writers of the Bible. He authored a series of letters to various Christian groups of his time. These letters are included in the Bible.

He started out as a persecutor and murderer of Christians. According to the Bible at some point he was blinded by a light while traveling. He was converted, baptized and healed by Ananias of Damascus according to writings. He then became a missionary, spreading Christianity around the known world of that time.
