Playstation 3
The Playstation 3 is a Cell based games console. It features a “Reality Synthesizer” GFX based on NVIDIA G70 clocked at 550MHz . The system runs the XMB graphic interface previously used on the PSP and the PSX. It features PSP connectivity, the ability to record live TV, backwards compatibility with the PS1 and PS2 (although the compatibility with the PS2 has been suspended on newer models) PSN Store, PSN (Playstation Network), Internet browser, Life With Playstation (previously known as Folding@Home) and the ability to playback Blu Ray movies.
Poor software releases and a high price tag for the base unit, along with the long delayed PSHome have hurt sales of the console. There's also noticeable absence of a “Killer App” to date.
