Pneumonic plague
Appearance
Medical specialists differentiate between several forms of plague, of which pneumonic plague, air-borne plague that first attacks a victim's lung, is more deadly than the better known bubonic plague.[1] Pneumonic plague's death rate is 41 percent.
Both pneumonic plague and bubonic plague are caused by the bacteria Yersinia pestis.

Pneumonic plague has a fatality rate of 41 per cent, making it many times deadlier than the coronavirus. The most recent death from plague in the US was in New Mexico, in June. Another death was reported in Arizona last year. An average of seven cases a year are reported in the US, mostly in western states. The last known outbreak of plague in Russia was in 2016, when a ten-year-old boy fell ill in the Altai region of Siberia.
