Port aux Basques

Port aux Basque is a port near the southwest tip of the island of Newfoundland. It is the western terminus of Newfoundland's major highway. It is the main newfoundland port for the ferry to Nova Scotia.
It has a French language name because the western part of Newfoundland had French settlements, until the Treaty of Utrecht, of 1713.
