The Portugese language is a romance language spoken in Portugal. Portugese and the Galician language, spoken in the Spanish province of Galicia are closely related, as, Galicia was once a country of its own, and, as spread south into regions of the Spanish peninsula that were ruled by Muslims, forming Portugal.
