Potash

From Encyc

The term potash is used for a family of mineral deposits which are an important precursor for fertilizer.[1] Potash is a rich source of Potassium.

Saskatchewan provides approximately a third of the world's potash.[1] Canada contains Planet Earth's largest reserve of potash -- roughly 20 percent.

Potash can be mined using conventional tunnel mining, where the mineral is broken and loaded using mechanical means. Alternately, miners have found some deposits are best extracted using potash solution mining..[1]
