Racism

Racism is the idea that human beings can be divided into groups based on skin color or other physical traits, and that the behavior or abilities of individuals can be predicted by their membership in these groups (called races). It often involves irrational fear or hatred.

It has little scientific basis, and has largely been used throughout history as a rationale for war, slavery, mass murder, and other problems that have afflicted humanity.
