Rugby Union

Rugby Union is the original version of Rugby and in most of the world is simply referred to as Rugby. It is called Rugby Union because Australia invented alternative rules to Rugby which they termed Rugby League, which in turn is played to some degree in New Zealand, South Africa and England, as well as in Australia. In Australia, Rugby League is more popular than Rugby Union, but in all other countries Rugby Union is more popular.
