Silvia B. Lovato is an academic, at Northwestern University, a senior producer for PBS Kids, and a trustee for Youth for Technology Foundation.[1][2] Her academic field is the analysis of how children learn to use computers.

Lovato was born in Brazil, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in journalism from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and worked as a journalist.[1][2]
