Slop

From Encyc
Man pouring slop for pigs.

Slop is by-product used as animal feed. In subsistence farming, this means leftovers from human consumption. In modern industrialized agriculture, slop comes from other industrial processes like corn processing or alcohol production.

Production of beer, whiskey, and other alcoholic beverages yields tons of fermented grain, sometimes known as "distiller's grains" or "corn slop". It is rich in carbohydrates, fatty acids, protein, and vitamins. For years, distillers like Jack Daniels have been giving this product to farmers who use it as animal feed. [1]. More recently, Jack Daniels decided to discontinue the program and to sell the slop instead to an energy company, which will consume it in the fires of industry to feed AI computer processors.
