Steven Righini was an American, who was shot and killed during a police standoff, in Portage Lake, Maine, on February 3, 2025.[1][2]

His wife phoned 9-1-1, reporting Righini had been violent to her, after she exited the family home.[3] The incident was largely recorded on video.[2] Authorities report Righini was armed, and was holding his infant daughter. They report he injured a State trooper, and killed a police dog, before police used deadly force against him. His daughter was rescued, without injury.
