Super Earth
A Super Earth is a class of planet. Is is so called because it is thought that its main composition is similar to the Earth's, that is, a rocky or metallic core, coated with a rocky crust or water. According to recent definitions, Super Earths have a mass of between 1 and 10 Earths, and they are a sort of "transition zone" between a rock planet and a gas giant. It is possible that among Super Earths there may also be planets completely covered in a liquid ocean.
There are no Super Earths in the Solar System, as the Earth is the largest rocky planet and Neptune, a gas giant, is the next larger planet, 14 times more massive than Earth.
Some exoplanets, that is, planets in other star systems, may be Super Earths.
